SHORT FUNCTIONAL TEXT

I. CAUTION/NOTICE/WARNING
Anak-anak dalam materi ini kalian akan mempelajari short functional text dalam bentuk caution/notice/warning. Kalian akan belajar apa yang dimaksud dengan Caution/Notice/warning, bagaimana cara mengerjakan soal jenis tersebut dan soal yang seperti apa saja yang sering muncul dalam ujian nasional.
Notice adalah pemberitahuan atau peringatan yang berupa tulisan atau tanda. Text ini berfungsi untuk memberi informasi, instruksi atau peringatan kepada public. Biasanya mengacu pada apa yang seharusnya dilakukan atau tidak dilakukan oleh orang yang membacanya.
Anak – anak, biasanya kalimat yang digunakan biasanya berupa imperative sentence.

DINOSAURS
Dinosaurs were a type of lizards. They lived from about 230 million to about 65 million years ago. In 1842, Sir Richard Owen created the word dinosaur. It came from Greek words deinos, meaning “terrible” and sauros meaning “ lizard”. Dinosaurs lived on earth for about 140 million years.
During the dinosaurian era, the days were short. The sun was not as hot as it today. On earth there was only one big continent and one big ocean. The name of the continent was pangea (all lands) and the name of the ocean was panthallassa (all seas).

Last week I participated in a badminton championship for SMP students carried out in Gedung Gasibu. It was held to commemorate the 62nd anniversary of our Independence Day. My friends and I went to the hall by car because it’s far from our school.

Although it was not so so easy and spent a lot of energy, I could defeat him at last. So, I also had a chance for the next turn in the semi final match.
